Showing posts from 2013

For those of you visiting this blog-site, you've probably noticed we've been lacking on posts lately!  We have an excuse though, it's because we're re-branding and when we re-launch, we'll be debuting a brand new blog-site!!  I'm so excited to share the new site and branding with everyone!

In the meantime, our clients have been keeping us very busy!  The 2013 wedding season is about to wrap up and we're in the midst of designing holiday party invitations and cards.  I always love this time of the year!

Stay tuned!

Lauren | Feminine Kitchen Themed Shower

For Lauren's bridal shower design, we were asked to incorporate kitchen accessories and pink and white damask!  Loved the girly touch to these designs!  We also designed coordinating recipe cards for the guests to fill out and bring with them as well as favor tags! The design was printed on white metallic paper (as well as the other accessories) layered on black metallic cardstock, and enclosed in a coordinating metallic envelope!

Cassie | Floral & Lace Baby Shower

Through this business, I have realized just how much everyone is connected in Bakersfield and I love it.  See, I designed for a wedding last year for clients Elyssa & Carson and it just so happened that Elyssa is friends with Hayley who went to school and church with my brother and I (along with her brother).  Hayley contacted me to design for her sister's baby shower and we just got done working with Elyssa designing for Hayley's baby shower because she is expecting too!  See what I mean?  Haha!  So Hayley contacted me for Cassie's baby shower and mentioned that the color scheme was yellow and gray with flowers, Chevron stripes, and hints of lace!   I had so much designing these and love the way they came out.  The design was printed on white metallic paper, layered on gray metallic cardstock, and enclosed in a coordinating metallic envelope. Stay tuned for the invitation design we did for Haylee! Wishing a very Happy Mother's Day to all of the mommies out there…

Lexie | 18th Birthday

During the designing of Brea's baby shower, hostess and sister-in-law to the mommy-to-be, Kiersten decided that she wanted us to design for her daughter's 18th birthday as well!  The inspiration she gave us was a picture she wanted used in the design, damask, and a black and turquoise color scheme!  Here is what we ended up designing!

A&E Photobooth | Gift Certificate Design

I had the honor of designing for Eva and Anthony last year and they have since turned into fellow wedding vendors as well by starting their own photo booth company called A&E Photobooth!  They contacted me to design a gift certificate for one of the bridal shows along with a 3 piece candy buffet for the guests visiting their booth in their company colors of black and red. We wish both of them tons of success in this new business venture and highly recommend them if you are planning an event!

Brea + Byron | "Mustache Bash" Couples Shower Pt. 2

Excuse our lapse in blogging!  Wedding season 2013 has officially kicked off and let's just say our wedding couples are keeping us busy but I am back to post some more fun projects we've been working on!  :) First up is Pt. 2 of Brea + Byron's couples shower!  Brea's mom contacted me to design some large posters and accessories for the shower!  We ended up designing two 16" x 20" posters and 4 different designs that were both used for cupcake toppers and cake pop stick labels!  So fun!  I just couldn't get enough of this color scheme and theme! Brea and Byron welcomed baby Everett a few weeks ago!  A huge congrats to this adorable family!

Brea + Byron | "Mustache Bash" Couple's Shower

Here is part 2 of Brea and Byron's baby shower designs!  For their couple's shower, they wanted "Mustache Bash" themed invitations incorporating a mustache and bow tie!  We were dying to design using this theme so we were thrilled when they contact us!  A chalkboard texture and chevron stripes were added into the design along with a black and white newspaper print pattern that is actually the same fabric that will be in Baby Young's nursery!  Brea's a teacher and wanted books for her little one so a book insert was also included in this design.  Love this idea! Brea's Baby Shower | "Sweet As Honey"

I simply LOVE getting to design for my clients long after their wedding day!  Brea and Byron were married last year and we were contacted by Brea and her sister-in-law about designing for two showers they'd be having, a couple's shower and then a baby shower thrown by Kiersten and other family members!  First up are the designs we created for Brea's bee themed shower with the help of Kiersten!  A double sided invitation was created  featuring the design below printed on the front and a fun black and white polka dot pattern on the back.  The invitation included a coordinating book insert and envelope.  We also designed favor tags, baby trivia cards, and a three strand bunting that spelt out "Sweet As Honey" with each strand measuring 6' to hang over a sweets table. The words "Sweet" and "Honey" were on black and white polka dot pennants with yellow lettering while "As" was on a yellow honeycomb pennant with black lettering.  Che…

Alexander | Modern Baptism

Jaclyn contacted us in regards to designing some modern baptism invitation for her son's baptism.  She sent us some inspiration using damask prints, chevron stripes, crosses and a color scheme including royal blue and gray.  We created several sample designs for her and this ended up being the winner!  The panel was printed on white metallic paper and layered on steel gray metallic cardstock.  The invitation was enclosed in a metallic envelope that featured coordinating addressing. We loved designing for this family and we're already working on another fun project with them!  Stay tuned for that! :)

Preppy Elephants and Stripes | Baby Shower

I got to design some fun baby shower accessories for a baby shower a friend and past client of mine was throwing for her friend!  We created "wishes for baby" cards and double sided tags for the favors she was cocoa mix...yum! Everything was printed on heavy white matte cardstock.  Baby Nolan made his appearance last week!  Congrats to the family and we're sending our very best wishes! :)

Ken's 50th Birthday | Jack Daniels

We got the chance to design another JD inspired birthday but switched it up a bit this time!  :)  Invitations were created using the design below and layered on white cardstock with coordinating envelopes.  We also got to design cupcake toppers and a bunting!  Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of the bunting before it shipped but each panel was black with the white border design and letters spelling out "Ken's 50th Birthday". Each panel was tied together using black twine. So fun!

Kim + Evan | New Years Cards

Kim, one of my brides from this last wedding season, e-mailed me in regards to designing "Happy New Year" cards that she could send out to friends and family...loved this idea as we had never done it before!  We designed a double sided panel card using their amazing wedding pictures shot by Holly Carlyle and text in their wedding colors.  They were printed on white metallic cardstock and enclosed in coordinating envelopes.  Loved the final product!  And seriously, how amazing are the pictures and Kim's dress!? :)

Kristen + Philip | Save the Dates

I am honored to be designing for Kristen and Philip's June wedding in Reading, PA!  They are an adorable couple who have been so much fun to work with!
For their saves the dates, we designed a series of samples using their engagement pictures.  The final product ended up being a quarter page design layered on gold metallic cardstock and enclosed in a white metallic envelope with coordinating addressing as shown directly below.  Stay tuned for their wedding invitations!!

Monday Matinae | Kelly + Jeremy

It's taken me forever to feature Kelly and Jeremy's wedding simply due to the fact that I couldn't seem to narrow down the pictures I wanted to feature!  Each one was just that beautiful, the lighting to die for, and the details just so perfect!  Plus, I'm kind of obsessed with her dress and heels! :)  Kelly and Jeremy got married in fall of 2010 at Bakersfield Country Club!  Enjoy and don't forget to check out her list of vendors below! Kelly + Jeremy | Bakersfield Country Club | Bakersfield, CA

We had the honor of designing for Kelly and Jeremy's wedding that took place in October of 2010.  Upon meeting with Kelly, I was so excited to design for them!  She had selected a purple and gray color scheme with pops of orange which I just loved!  We designed dark gray metallic pocketfolds that featured the design below that featured a classic monogram design.  Also created were reception invitations for her to hand out to her co-workers that she wanted to celebrate with too!  Check back tomorrow for their wedding feature will with amazing pictures!

Thanksgiving 2012 | Tablescape and Decor

While window shopping shortly before the holidays, my mom and I saw a beautiful tablescape on display at Pier 1 and decided to do our own take on it for Thanksgiving!  It featured a beautiful color scheme that we had never pictured for Thanksgiving before (thanks Pier 1 for the inspiration!).  We added turquoise silk napkins and  fabric to the table along with copper chargers and chocolate brown glass and stemware.  The centerpiece was created using the same beaded fruits and vegetables that we typically use at this time of year but this year we incorporated beaded acorns and squash as well.  Each place setting featured  homemade cranberry orange and caramel apple mini loaves and chocolate-peanut butter acorns for our guests to take home with them with a small tent card that read "Some goodies to take with you and enjoy!" The silk napkins were folded in thirds and placed horizontally over the plates and between the chargers.  A piece of copper cardstock was then placed over…
