Halloween: Alice In Wonderland Style, Part 1

Halloween is almost here!  We love this time of the year at MDS!  So many fun projects to work on that set the tone for the rest of the holidays!  The next three posts will be dedicated to what we've been working on for Halloween this year!

We got another chance to design for one of our very favorite clients, Brittany.  We designed for her wedding that took place in May 2010 and had the chance to design baby shower invitations and announcements that will hit the blog soon!  When she came over to pick up the announcements, I showed her a sneak peak of something we were working on for a Halloween "Alice in Wonderland" style party.  She loved the things I showed her so much, she asked if we could make a hanging decor item with the same theme for her home.

We quickly went to work ordering in the same paper and came up with the 2.5 foot wide hanging banner that featured different panels that included lots of embellishments and the names of each family member, Brittany, Cole, and baby Brayden!  Here are the pictures of the final product!

Monday Matinae | "Beauty and the Beast" Styling with Jessica Frey

This winter, we got the opportunity to design for a unique shoot that Jessica of Jessica Frey Photography was putting together!  I can't tell you how excited we were to design for this and finally get the chance to work with her!  Jessica has done several fairy tale inspired shoots that are aimed to help brides find modern fairy tale inspiration. Such a cool concept!
For this styling, we had the opportunity to design an invitation suite, placecards, a cake topper, menu, and bunting.  For the invitation we created a navy metallic gatefold that featured an ornate metallic yellow frame that are laser cut and placed to "frame" the panel.  The panel was printed on pearl metallic paper and featured modern silhouettes.  A thick satin ribbon adorned with a gold brooch tied around the outside of the invitation.  The invitation was then placed in a navy metallic invitation box along with a coordinating response card and inner envelope.
Placecards were designed as tent cards using…

A&E Photobooth | Gift Certificate Design

I had the honor of designing for Eva and Anthony last year and they have since turned into fellow wedding vendors as well by starting their own photo booth company called A&E Photobooth!  They contacted me to design a gift certificate for one of the bridal shows along with a 3 piece candy buffet for the guests visiting their booth in their company colors of black and red. We wish both of them tons of success in this new business venture and highly recommend them if you are planning an event!

MDS ANNOUNCEMENT!

For those of you visiting this blog-site, you've probably noticed we've been lacking on posts lately!  We have an excuse though, it's because we're re-branding and when we re-launch, we'll be debuting a brand new blog-site!!  I'm so excited to share the new site and branding with everyone!

In the meantime, our clients have been keeping us very busy!  The 2013 wedding season is about to wrap up and we're in the midst of designing holiday party invitations and cards.  I always love this time of the year!

Stay tuned!
